Kill Rules

Kill Rules are your budget safety net. Pick a metric, an operator, a threshold, and a lookback window; when a delivering campaign breaches the rule, SimplAds pauses it and notifies you by email with the exact metric value that triggered it. Evidence floors (minimum spend and impressions) keep rules quiet until there is enough data to judge, and every trigger writes an audit row — so you always know what fired, when, and why.

Process

How it works

Step-01

Define your rule

Choose a metric (spend, ROAS, CPA, CPC, CTR, CPM), an operator (above/below), a threshold, and a lookback window in days.

1
Step-02

Set evidence floors

Require minimum spend and impressions in the window before the rule can fire — so a campaign is never killed on statistical noise.

2
Step-03

SimplAds evaluates after each metrics sync

Every time fresh performance data lands, every enabled rule is checked against every delivering campaign in its scope.

3
Step-04

Automatic pause + notification

A breached rule pauses the campaign through the audited executor and emails you with the metric value and window. A cooldown stops the same rule from re-firing immediately.

Scenarios

Use cases

1

Stop budget bleed while you sleep

Set a rule: pause any campaign whose ROAS drops below 1.0 over the last 3 days after at least $200 of spend. If it breaches overnight, it is paused at the next evaluation — not whenever you next open the dashboard.

2

Protect new campaign tests

Add a kill rule to test campaigns: pause if CPA exceeds 3x your target once the evidence floor is met. You will never burn a full budget on a losing concept again.

3

A paper trail for every kill

Every trigger records the rule, the metric value, and the window it was measured over. When someone asks "why did this campaign stop?", the answer is one click away.
